The Plimouth & Patuxet Museumin Plymouth, MA is a living history museum where "characters" are dressed in historical clothing that speak and act as would the people of that time. At Plimouth there are also historians and tribal descendants dressed in modern clothing that provide talks and additional information. As a teacher, what I most appreciate about Plimout Plantation was that the characters and historians didn't lecture or give scripted talks. They responded to questions and took cues from the people around them about what to share and how to share it. The kids learned so much and so did my husband and I. Plymouth is about an hour outside of Boston and even closer to Cape Cod. If you are planning a trip to either of those places, add Plimouth Plantation onto your itinerary. You won't be disappointed.
